We have been searching for a Training Baton for our Recruits and In-Service Use of Force Training segments. A training baton that was both safe and durable, the Tac-Trainer™ training batons are both.
We spent six weeks testing and evaluating your Training Batons with several Defensive Tactics Instructors as well as Veteran Officers. They loved the fact that the product provided a safe, practical training tool. The Tac-Trainer™ training batons are the types of equipment Use of Force Instructors need to look at. To be able to provide a safe training segment along with real world scenarios that allow for Use of Force options and decision-making for the Officers.

As the creator of the Danger Zone Defensive Tactics Law Enforcement programs, I’ve been searching for a safe way to introduce weapons within my ground defense and escapes segments. Encounters with an armed attacker often ends up with two people struggling for control of the weapon, often cases, the weapon is a knife. When training for this situation, it’s critical that it is acted out as close to reality as possible.
Initially we tried using aluminum training blades, but as we increase our intensity during training, safety became an issue, but then I discovered the Tac-Trainer™ padded knives. With the Tac-Trainer™ padded knives. I was able to safely train various techniques without the risk of serious injury.
I highly recommend Tac-Trainer™ padded training equipment to any Defensive Tactic Instructors or Academies.

As a martial arts and a law enforcement instructor I found that the Tac-Trainer™ have been able to increase the realism of the training while keeping injuries at a minimum. With padded suits and other training batons students were still having severe bruising to large muscle groups. With the Tac-Trainer™ I've been able to provide training without the padded suits in the law enforcement training that I provide and still have not had injuries to the extent I did with the padded suits.
I highly recommend these products for training in any area of stick and knife training.

Reality based scenario training in law enforcement and the martial arts are a very important in determining the effectiveness of training concepts and the application of techniques. One of the most difficult areas to train is baton due to the lack of training equipment which allows for full speed, power and counter strikes in scenario training against a resisting subject.
Over the years, I have used a variety of commercial and homemade padded batons in scenario training. Most of the commercial grade training batons have been either so ridged they inflicted injuries similar to a real baton or so soft and light it did not reflect realistic training.
The Tac-Trainer is an excellent product. Unlike many of the current commercial batons on the market which are typically too flexible, the Tac-Trainers were ridged enough execute medium to high speed takedowns without bending. Additionally, the padding reduced the impact to the training partner commonly seen when practicing the same techniques at slow speed with a real stick or baton.
